Gothenburg-hailing quintet Wolfschmidt shared a dynamic new single. “file” is an intense and melancholic gazey alternative rock track. With a blustery, assertive guitar attack and a spirited rhythm section, the musicians create a sharp, emotional sound pressure. The vocals are delivered in a somewhat burnt-out manner in the verses, but then explode into a powerful, piercing chorus. The track “circles around failed explanations and the quiet weight of knowing nothing will change,” the band says.
