Canadian vocalist Avery Raquel presented a new single about the challenges of love in its early stages, co-written and performed with songwriter Ali Levy and featuring guitarist Ariel Posen. “Shoes” is a lush folky soul pop ballad with a mellow tempo and bittersweet melodicism. The guitars and keys envelop you in gentle, warm layers, and the rhythm section strides along pleasantly, without disturbing the width of these melodic landscapes. The vocals remain in a special, soaring-thoughtful state and carry a very sensitive beauty.
