Acclaimed Bostonian six-piece Lettuce presented a velvety new groove taken from their future album “Cook” (December 3). “Breathe” is autumnal funk and soul twists anchored by a head-nodding hip-hop base. Along with the lush wind section, gliding guitar, and fluttering keys, the lively and atmospheric melodies lay over the tight drum mechanics and tasty bass shifts.
