Four New South Wales sound enthusiasts The Moving Stills have unveiled their uplifting new single.
“Downlow” is propulsive party-ish neo-psychedelia. It seems to be a modern and peculiar reminiscence of the UK music culture trends of the early ‘90s, in particular Madchester and alternative dance genres. This is primarily reflected in the catchy, steadfast drum beat that immediately winds up the track. Also, in the instrumentals you will find a light guitar fuzz, soft vocals in the vein of Kevin Parker, elastic, nimble bass, and silky, atmospheric effects - all this has a very euphoric impact. The main message of “Downlow” is that one shouldn’t condemn other people, and negative opinions are better to ignore. The Moving Stills’ debut album is scheduled for release in November 2021.
