This is an impressive new single from the promising UK quartet English Teacher.
The song “R&B” captivates with the pulsating, and then splashing out instrumental dynamic and the catchy broadcasting vocals. The lyrics are saturated with acute, essential notes, it’s metaphorical, intimate, piercing. You can feel this effect thanks to vocalist Lily Fontaine’s striking speech performance as well. “R&B” is like the strongest, tightened bowstring - English Teacher expressively combine tension and energy here, on the one hand reminding post-punk of Gang Of Four, and on the other, NYPC and Drahla.
