This is the wonderful second single from the Virginia band in anticipation of their debut album set for release this spring.
“What I'm Here For” is an elaborate modern soul music. Mesmerizing with its magic, vocalist Adar Seligman-McComas' passages are cleverly dosed and seasoned with important philosophical reflections. Darzo make the track sound down-to-earth and sincere, but at the same time, steeped with somewhat bitter nostalgia for something unattainable. To consolidate the result, the band devotes time to the lyric, touching solo, and the backing vocals deserving special attention.
