Nana Norgaard, half of the Denmark duo The Bowdashes, came up with her new project, Neu Sierra, and this is a thrilling debut song from the forthcoming EP “Sulphur And Molasses.”
If Tanita Tikaram recorded an album with The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble, it might sound like this. “Dirty Me” is the finest quintessence of noir. This dark, deep, and viscous sound is created with autoharp, somnambular guitars and drum tinsel. And Norgaard’s mysterious nocturnal voice feels as if from cold and foggy streets and alleys of a strange city. In her honest and moving lyrics, like in a Meyrink novel, reality is forever lost in a dream, and dreams persistently absorb reality.
