The South Carolina quartet, led by bassist Jeremy Wolf, present a track from the new LP “The Wheel.”
The seven-minute work “Feline Master” opens with an agile rhythm section and a piano accents. Then we hear the playful saxophone passages, while the drums continue their rhythmic magic. Post-Bop motifs are performed in an inventive manner, as if they run through untrodden paths. Shortly, the double bass, piano, and drum solos emerge, showing an excellent dynamic capacity. “Feline Master” is an interesting jazz concept.
