“The Holy Spirit” is darkened psych surf rock. With an intense basement production, intoxicating fuzz, depleted bass loops, and restless drums, Garage Of Broken Dreams made everything sound like paranoid fun under blackening leaden skies. The simultaneously mesmerizing and anxiously visionary lyrics, broadcasting in a hypnotically monotonous way, stretch all these lines to the very limit. Like an ominous lost Joy Division bootleg, the track exudes cold, oppressive fear, isolation. The band's new 55-track opus, “Fashion Party,” is due out on November 6, don’t miss out.
