L'Avenir - Fallen Star

Read full review & listen on Grotesqualizer.

An honored ambient explorer from Baltimore, Jason Sloan, who’s also creating minimal wave/сoldwave music under the name L'Avenir, released the split “Mirrors of Expression” with Dirk T. Klein (as Silent Signals) - an industrial and nocturnal synth sound popularizer from another corner of the world. It’s worth your time to pay attention to this work through the track “Fallen Star” from L’Avenir.

Because “Fallen Star” is a delicate matter, soaked through with the twilight paint of days and cut with patterns of nighttime agony. A veil covering with an absolutely motionless atmosphere. Mummified, cosmic goth synth sound, where the lyrics are scarred burns that are like dark biblical signs. If Bela Tarr wrote “One Hundred Years” of The Cure, it would be something close.

My only wish can come at night
Death upon a falling star
