Indianapolis-based instrumental three-piece Withoutend shared the twisting second composition from their upcoming album (December 31). “Paper Cranes” is technical, windy-impressionistic, mathy-jazzy post-rock with a pensive spirit of winter nostalgia. The guitar creates a reflective tapestry against a backdrop of elaborate rhythmic changes. The single also dedicates considerable time to the sonic poetry of the bass passages.
