London singer Madeleine Rose Witney has shared an intriguing single from her upcoming debut EP. “Shine” is a velvety vintage soul/folk take with a honeyed vocal work and cinematic noir languor. The deep bass-loaded rhythmic line swings between guitar and keyboard smoothness and melting strings, capturing Witney’s incredibly stirring singing. It’s “an anthem for particularly women but anyone who may be vulnerable in that situation, day or night, to have a kind of angelic figure guiding them home,” says the artist.
