“You Don't Have To Be Anyone” is the debut album by US quartet Ranger, stream one of its spellbinding pieces. Mixing elements of '80s/'90s-flavored British jangly sophisti-pop-rock and alternative dance, the band forms a dreamy, lush and rhythmic hypno-sound. As if The Blue Nile met Phil Collins to take over the Madchester scene. The atmospheric guitars fill the speakers over the punchy-repetitive drums, accompanied by the mellow vocal and breezy noir sax.
