We Will Intersect - We Will Intersect II

Grotesqualizer

Aussie jazz experimentalists We Will Intersect, led by Adrian Lim-Klumpes (Triosk, Tangents), show what transfixing music is.

“We Will Intersect II,” an excerpt from the quartet’s LP-suite, starts with nocturnal cinematic alleys, and towards the end it feels like the soundtrack for a blazing atmospheric entry. The bleaky trumpet notes are like trips through the phantom memoria paradoxes. The modern classical-infected, tense piano outpourings are emphasized by the relatively restrained drumming. The electronic effects, inconspicuous at first, form a soft stardust layer around this sound abstraction.
