Almost ten years after their latest album, Maltese quartet The Areola Treat returns with a driving song and an EP planned for March 4.
A dense combo of post-punk and alternative rock works successfully in “Tell A Lie.” The rectilinear drum clarity, the unflagging bass guitar giving a leg up, the vortex-y, surf rock-friendly guitar riffs follow in an invigorating tempo. Lisa Micallef Grimaud’s catchy vox phrases add a strong key impulse to the track. The lyrical side of “Tell A Lie” allures with crypticness and interpreting field.
