Vienna, Austria-based Japanese composer and keytarist Sayuri Kato or Sayuline, unveils her fresh EP “OUTPUT SK” through this agile composition.
“S” has charming jazz developments, Latin music influenses, and the vibe of a lounge, tropical sound from ‘70s European films. The track picks up with the playful combination of piano and drums, through which the relaxing path of summery organ lies. Despite the lack of bass guitar support, the accompaniment of a passionate conga drum performance in the vein of Ray Barretto is an excellent decision and only adds to the rhythm of “S.” And Sayuline’s melodic explorations are so light and elegant that they create great uplifting sensations.
