Canadian singer-songwriter and producer Shanika Maria has presented the stunning second single from the upcoming EP “Structura.”
“Essence” is elegiac ambient art pop that feels like a lonely sparkler burning down in the twilight. The slow post-rock intonations, lasting keys and reverse, and soft new age drums create a touching and hypnotic sound. The emerging vocoder voice is overlaid with Shanik’s more subtle, beautiful vocal touches, amazing and effecting.
