Deer Thomas - Matters Of The Heart

“Matters Of The Heart” is the hymn of a wanderer who outwitted the burden and sheltered from its constant storm.

Listening to this is the same as looking at the phantasmagoric flame of a bonfire made by this traveler among the whispering rocks and virgin forests. He made this bonfire yesterday, he makes it today, and will make it tomorrow. In this track, shaman Deer Thomas forces those impenetrable spirits of matter to pour out, spirits that time itself is afraid to disturb. Magical, ethereal guitar and genuine lyrics about inner fear, paradox, and the uncontrollable correspond, in a way, with the work of Adrian Borland and the legacy of Les Poetes maudits. The whole album “Chompin' At The Bit” is a unique and delicate thing, impregnated with nocturnal smells, enveloping noises, whispers, crackling that make this some sort of cave-recorded folk. And there is a place there for a magical, airy space, healing mind after the long and meaningless battles.
