Zurich, Switzerland outfit District Five shares their diverting live single.
“U Never Said Much” is a powerful amalgamation that spans different sources - from art punk to math rock. The firm rhythm section runs and jumps over invisible chasms and obstacles, while the guitar playing radiates rich, frosty and fresh passages. In slow places, like at 0:40, everything is complemented by the distant saxophone that noticeably expands the composition, and the music seems to fall and fly in this hole. There’s not much vocal in the track, but it sounds mesmerized, as if under hypnosis, and deep emotions seem to be well hidden in the lyrics, which is a certain technique used throughout the song. “U Never Said Much” is a versatile and inventive creation.
