“Alchemize (Phil's Song)” is a diverting jam inspired by regional music such as West African psych rock and funk, Ethio-jazz, and dense Latin rhythms. The alluring energy is being born right here and now. The rhythm section and guitar magnetize and invigorate with an excellent start. The saxophone lines blend soft waves and enlivening pokes, perfectly complementing this perky dance. By 1:30, the track moves to alt-samba, smoothly transforming into Tishoumaren, then comes back to the previous groove and ends with a cheerful percussion solo. Katzroar won’t leave anyone unenchanted with their dynamic hooks.
