Spices Peculiar - Artificial Conflicts

Grotesqualizer

This is an absorbing abstraction from Pittsburgh, PA adept of improvisation art Dante Villagomez and his project Spices Peculiar.

“Artificial Conflicts” is an almost 12-minute experience filled with strange, thrilling, and otherworldly visions. Villagomez's manipulations with music effects conjure up suspenseful ceremonies in the depths of secret, cold, unidentified caves, they’re also complemented by drummer Steve Ippolito’s various patterns. This mystic ambient is a true sonic entheogen, which can be compared in effect to Tibetan ritual music. With its sound vibrations, Spices Peculiar seems to create slits in reality, releasing and contacting with something incomprehensible. Pretty exciting material, and the full album is planned to be released in October.
