WORLD BRAIN - Minute Papillon

Grotesqualizer

WORLD BRAIN, the Berlin-based project of French musician Lucas Chantre (Fenster), unveils a swirling cut in anticipation of the November album “Open Source.”

“Minute Papillon” blooms on the border of mathy nu jazz and art pop. Using a 7/8 rhythm groove with silky-spacey synths, Chantre forms sticky sonic loops and layers that sound like the calls of unearthly creatures. The French singing and clarinet passages have a lovely feel and add more calm plasticity to it. Strikingly uplifting and quirky.
