Singer-songwriter Rob Fairley or Fferlys from Hamilton, Ontario presented his latest EP “No Hype” featuring this atmospheric piece.
“1994” is unhurried indie with a sedative lo-fi flair, that feels like a pathway to a charming cloud horizon. The sun-warmed, pastoral-inclined guitar passages and invoking piano sound soaring, sometimes psychedelic, sometimes lethargic, but always inspiring, as if Roy Montgomery reworked The Velvet Underground. Fairley’s laconic vocal nicely fits into it and rides the stream of time and memory.
