London-based brother duo Tian Qiyi presents their debut LP “Red Mist” through this wonderful jam.
“Incantation” carries a junglist’s fusion of Chinese and Mongolian traditional music, jazz and krautrock. The first part of the track has John Tian Qi’s passionate breakbeat cyclicity that goes along with an intensive bass run by eminent dub resident Jah Wobble. The precise, wah-wah-impregnated, sliding dance of Charlie Tian Yi’s erhu fiddle sounds very perky. The second part showcases more of the echoing steppe nomad chant and psychedelic insights.
