“Deep End” is a meditative, continuous, misty drone road dotted with ASMR-ish crackling embers. It feels like something that Basinski could have recorded for Weerasethakul’s setting. The sound design seems to convey a state where the mind cannot be between today’s irreality and the rewind of memories, and therefore it runs into the open, immense night. On the other hand, the track conjures up a picture of a lost, dusty cabin where the restless feeling of expectation grows into a tired eternity.
