Hot Mustard - The End Of Time (Feat. Alanna Royale)

Grotesqualizer

South Carolina instrumental two-piece Hot Mustard unveil an engaging portion of their future album, “Seconds.”

“The End Of Time” sounds like a long forgotten lo-fi funk gem, as if found while crate digging. The elegiac guitars and sentimental whistling clearly flirt with seventies film score melodism. For the first 40 seconds, the music is similar to a sped up, gloomy trip-hop classic, but then the bass thrust and playful, velvety organ crawl out and make the groove warmer. The production vision gives the feeling of a heady, cozy place, while a storm is raging outside the window. Appearing at 02:48, singer Alanna Royale adds beautiful rhythm and blues, soul passages.
