Manchester, UK sextet Deadhaus has introduced their groovy debut gem.
On “Coconut Crab,” Afrobeat-themed psych rock sounds very juicy and pulsating. From the start, it eats into your ears with chopped riffs, accompanied by a hyperactive rhythm line, and then continues with sonorous, gritty guitar solos. At the 0:43 mark, the sinuous Middle Eastern tones emerge, underlined by the saxophone that later adds its own alluring highlights. Seems like a new hope is arising for the fans of Goat, Altın Gun, Yin Yin, Khruangbin, and the like.
