Louisville, KY collective Turbo Nut amazes with their latest cut.
“El Toro” nicely fits between neo-krautrock and garage art-psych-punk. The playful slowdown and speed-up, heady and melting fuzz, spacey laser pyramids of synthesizers - the instrumental is in an impressively distinctive, bold state. The main vox of Emma Treganowan pull you in like a mesmerizing flame. At times, this song feels like KGATLW covering Siouxsie And The Banshees covering Agitation Free. And thematically, “El Toro” is about a cult skateboard location, a 20-stair set of the same name in Southern California.
