Fascinating Rotterdam artist Robin Kester uncovers hypnagogic aesthetics on her new mini-release “Celeste.”
The record's title song is a smooth, noir dream pop pill. In addition to that, the scenery of the chamber pop area is used in the song in a non-trivial way. “Celeste” layers enigmatically cozy and isolatingly, so to speak, sprouting in the vibe of Beach House, Sade, and Lynch. Robin Kester’s viscous vocal lethargy bewitchingly takes you outside of all dimensions. Speaking about the recording process, she mentions:
“I was feeling at the time a bit lost and detached, not really present in my own body.”
