Elison - Fruit Flies

Grotesqualizer

Elison, a music combo from Iowa's capital, comprised of singer Marissa Kephart and multi-instrumentalist Scott Yoshimura, have launched a stirring, tuneful introspection.

“Fruit Flies” is a terrific version of variable indie rock under the influence of the ‘90s and ‘00s alternative scene. The instrumental is fervent and commodious, flavored with darkened pastel, blustery harmonies. Kephart’s instantly hooking, low and quiet vocals have a vulnerable and floaty clearance in some moments. And the second verse best embodies what is the main theme of “Fruit Flies” - the exaggerated appeal of your young years that burdens your present.
