The Dead Shakers My Life (Feat. Overhand Sam)

Grotesqualizer

Vermont vegan lysergicians The Dead Shakers, led by Kevin Bloom, released the splendid new material “Some Shapes Reappear,” full of different sorts of psychedelia.

“My Life,” the second track off the LP that also features Rochester musician Sam Snyder, is a vibrant sixties garage baroque psych-surf resurrection. The flying, multicolored keyboards and cello, twist-styled double snares, hazy-jangly, separately channeled guitars and rich bass control - all this opens up in a shining, interdimensional perspective. An almost Buddhist-like parable about the stream of life appears in Kevin’s bright, echoing voice. Warmly vintage, remarkably concise, trippy fun.
