The collaboration of Australian musicians, trumpeter Nick Garbett and Berlin-based bassist Mike Majkowski, gives the addictive EP “The Glider,” let’s absorb the track of the same name.
The composition “The Glider” is a masterful combination of ambient and world fusion. The monotonous dub bass vibrates in a trance, the Latin percussion holds the vibe, and the unburdened trumpet passages immerse you in a mysteriously psychedelic procession. By 1:30, the bright glow of drone-ish synths appears and illuminates the consciousness, filling the track with spiritual images, referring to classic kraut visionaries Popol Vuh or Tangerine Dream. “The Glider” is spectacular sound diving.
