Wales duo Lowmen demonstrate the distinctive sound vision of their debut EP “Tourism” through the alluring song “Monster.”
“Monster” is all about unusual finds in experiments with the configuration of neo-soul and 2000s indie melodies. The instrumental captivates with the synth drawing, reminiscent of fantastic geoglyphs, while the drums sound as if they try to twist the space. And of course the drum part is one of the main figures in “Monster.” The vocal moves step by step - exactly where it should, emphasizing the melodic and, where necessary, the rhythmic moments. Overall, it seems like this is how Arcade Fire might sound like if they recorded with Anderson .Paak.
