Doxa, or Jeremy Hunter, an artist of experimental electronica, based in Berlin, presents the most tempting sculpture from his latest release, “EP2.”
As if surrounded by unknown neural networks, inside a strange levitating carcass, in the midst of massive snow-capped mountains, Doxa skillfully manipulates the divine remote control, which stretches and replaces the delicate tissues of the universe with the help of sounds. The structure of “Spit On The Altar” magically expands, then narrows down the space, mixing ethno ambient with stimulating rhythmic sprouts. It feels like it lets the listener fall free from the edge of the world to the core of the Earth and back, or as if something as simple as a Chinese head massager opened the doors to William Blake’s paintings.
