Oakland, CA, dark engineering Field Of Fear has prepared a self-titled album, hold on for 4 minutes of the disturbing and ominous tension of the track “Sleep.”
The oppressive drone, bewilderment and horror, a sacrificial mountain under the faded and indifferent star shining - Field Of Fear creates an indescribable auditory spectacle. The befuddling atmosphere is outlined with the monotonous doom percussion, a throat-sung ritual mantra, and a censer with noise ties. This eerie procession feels like the heavy dream, as if you are being led with a bag on your head to the inevitable through a winding and cutting-feet path, but then you wake up and the shadows, seeped through your dream, turn into one paranoid spot. This sound could belong to the San Jose trio, named just like this track, if they were cultivating some other plants, or to Robert E. Howard was not a writer, but a one-man band and wrote the composition “The Black Stone.” Field of Fear creates something that goes beyond, and the sound arousing fear is clearly more than just music.
