The debut work "Capture" from Brooklyn trio Obstacle is a kraut-skeleton covered with ambient muscles.
The steady beat is embraced by the flexible bass line in the style of Gang of Four, on top of which random images, coming to mind, spread in thick lines. There’s almost a whiff of Foals in the softness and harmonies intonations. By the middle of the track, the band melts its core in order to direct our gaze to the most hidden and distant point of their collage. For 5 minutes and 40 seconds, we’re being led from one end to the other, getting the opportunity to see the hypnotic productivity of this sound performance.
