London-hailing new-coming artist Violet UltraRay dropped the atmo-agile second single. “girl in a tree” is a vintaged baggy/Madchesterian dreamgaze cut with funky drum beat lines, wide guitar wings, and a splashing, pop-hitting, ecstatic chorus. The music breathes and lives in a bit washed out, yet dynamic sound and delivery, giving space to Violet UltraRay’s infectious vocal. “I needed to come down from negative tree I was in so wrote this song instead to chill out,” the musician says.
