Nova Cult, a project of Los Angeles singer-songwriter J.J. Dunlap, released the second album that includes this thick number.
Instrumentally, “For Now” is droney neo-psycehedelic rock with smokey and enveloping textures. The guitars wander in a heady, polyphonic brew. But the vocal stays strictly in the tone of the '90s alternative rock/post-grunge scene. The song is not distracted by forced inserts, but rather maintains its own mesmerizing focus until the very end.
