Swedish hip-hop scene veteran, Looptroop member, producer, and DJ Magnus Bergkvist or Embee drops atmospheric new material called “Retellings.”
“Barberry Byways,” the track off the record, is an unhasting, recreational jazz rap instrumental with naturalistic tones. The comfy piano chords glide over the tight, juicy beat, featuring a pleasant deep throbbing that mixes sub-bass and double bass. The light flute dabs bring an even more uplifting, cloudless vibe. Additionally, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Embee's award-winning debut LP “Tellings From Solitaria,” the vinyl repress will be available later this fall.
