Copenhagen/Berlin-based duo of composers/improvisers Ignacio Cordoba and Agata Ciurkot give a vaguely sombre taste of their upcoming album “Ephemeral, Basal.”
“Pseudobulbar Affect” is a nine-minute audioclip of doom jazz taking on modern classical. Hypnotized humans watch the hands of a doomsday clock in the cave apartments of a noir city, shrouded by the bleak piano phrases. Imagine Bohren & Der Club Of Gore deconstructing Wyschnegradsky. The oppressive ambience is further reinforced by the bass pressure in the background. Strong music experience.
