London-based three-piece Warren's House has debuted with a gripping 2-track single.
The first one, “Lilac Type,” has a stepped, twisting delivery with compelling post-punk/rock, prog and math tints and hooks. The riffs range from disquieting and cutting to spacious and contemplative. The rhythm line, quite dense and clever, makes the composition roll like a ball of fire, and then squeezes in a sustainable position. The spoken word vocal here is like a thread that stitches the song with the lyrics about
“the tension between nostalgia and personal growth.”
