In “Devoted,” Marcy switches from textural rap/vocal verses to goosebumps-inducing chorus lines, as if taken from a '90s romcom soundtrack. The spacey keyboard and thick drums head towards bouncy alternative pop, as well as classic trip-hop/downtempo in the vein of Hooverphonic. As a result, the hypnotic viscosity of the track exceeds expectations.
