Kris Lefcoe - Dirt

Grotesqualizer

New York-based film director Kris Lefcoe debuts with an engrossing single, a cover of “Dirt” by The Stooges, that will be on her upcoming EP “The Naked Tapes.”

The original version’s ‘70s druggy garage blues turns into a hypnagogic trip-hop pastille, close to Bowery Electric or Portishead. The dub bass mantra rolls smoothly through the mind, whereas the keys and guitar motifs emit notes like iridescent light at sundown. Lefcoe adds a special deep feel to the track with her immersive, misty vocal performance.
