Salt Lake City quintet The Plastic Cherries has released a thrilling song from their forthcoming LP.
“Moon II” is a tube-sounding, ‘70s-infected weave of glam rock, soft rock and psychedelia with a terrific instrumentation. The guitars and keyboards turn from soaring to epic and back as the rhythm guides them confidently. Shelby Maddock’s velvety vocals are completely imbued with artistic magnetism. In addition, the shining, intoxicating, aesthetic rediscovery of the Fleetwood Mac and T.Rex epoch in this song emphasizes its sci-fi vision, similar to Bradbury’s “The Martian Chronicles.”
“It is a wistful and winking nostalgia for a time when we earthlings looked forward to the future,” clarifies the band.
