Noah Rott, a Germany-born, New York-based composer and keyboarder, has unveiled his fascinating latest composition.
“Lay My Shield Aside” is lush and cloudy post-jazz, where dreaminess neighbors with melancholia. Also, this music resembles the movement of a brook that subsequently disappears in a huge waterfall. The track’s measuredness takes turns with a plentiful sound palette, while the overall melodies awaken the inmost depths. Noah gets help creating the atmosphere from talented artists in the NYC modern jazz scene, such as Alfredo Colon on wind controller, drummer Kobi Abcede and bass player Mathias Jensen.
