Damjan Brkic, a musician, composer, and Ne-ton label founder from Belgrade, plays with pale moon-ish tones on the fresh EP “Crossorigin” for his project Iframes.
The composition “Snares” is distinctive doom jazz with a focus on improvisational finds that have an element of classic music, which can be named dark free romanticism. With these themes, Brkic draws a gray, hung-up world at the edge of time, where the cold wind of yearning dominates and freezes you to your bones every minute. In the slow, smooth piano corridors, only the solitary pleasure of melancholia is left. The contact of a dismal elegance and surrealistic blurs converts “Snares” into an anthem of apathetic pensiveness.
