Cormorant Tree Oh - The Cave

Grotesqualizer

Dublin artist Mary Keane or Cormorant Tree Oh unveils the first gem from her future second album “Swoontide.”

“The Cave” is murky progressive folk with a splendid merger of avant-garde and paganism. “This song is a celebration of the form and symbolism of caves,” Keane mentions. On this track, she creates a tense soundscape of the fly agaric-ish worship of unknown ancient gods in a foggy stone terrain. The vocal performance slowly spins in an incantatory intonation under the frightening scintillation of midsummer thunderstorms. Also, in addition to the alarming string base, the instrumental part is full of sinister binaural moments.
