Anna Stubbs, London keyboardist, singer-songwriter, label owner and member of the broken beat duo Brotherly releases her lush second single under the moniker Kinzoogianna.
“Night Train” is a playground for Kinzoogianna's eclectic and contemporary jazz vision inspired by ‘70s jazz-funk and soul. But the revitalizing vocal reminds of the sparkling ‘90s/‘00s R&B - it sounds nimble, energetic, splintering into smooth harmonies and jaunty, accentuated parts. The rhythm section is also excellent, the slippery and sinuous impulses of the bass guitar are difficult to catch with any infrared traps, and the drum part plays with the track like with a Hoberman sphere.
