Tucson mind-expanders Spacemoose take you on a special flight to the exploration and knowledge of other dimensions.
Spacemoose's self-titled nine-minute debut is a powerful trip-statement. The work opens with viscous drone, a resonating trance tanpura, dreamy nature recordings, and dizzying vocal intonation. Gradually the music gains the enthraling side melodies that open the chests of the subconscious, the sound starts to move more intensly a la shamanic dance, and then the drumming turns the pulsating vibrations into a nimble jazzy/kraut-ish style. The sonic beam exceeds itself and becomes quite absorbing, and in the sixth minute the musicians ease the pressure. But by the end of the seventh minute, the seething psychedelia breaks out again, filling up the whole space.
