Feeding Goats - Leaving The Station

Grotesqualizer

Feeding Goats is the NY husband/wife musical collaboration of figurative expressionist painter Michael Hafftka and author and sound engineer Yonat Hafftka, they demonstrate a pretty impressive performance from their new album “Celestial Marketplace.”

“Leaving The Station” is an improvised, cinematic, dark, and brilliantly realized opus. The track opens with Michael Hafftka's sneaking guitar, drawing mysterious and strange, unsettling passages, reminiscent of medieval mysticism. It also features guitarist-experimenter Marco Oppedisano. When the penetrating sound of the theremin, played by Yonat, appears, the music seems to take on a more folklore flair, reminding of Nikolai Gogol's “Viy” or a soundtrack to giallo and gothic horror. This music keeps you in suspense, as if for some prophylactic purpose, voicing the gloomy shadow games, and for 3 minutes making you feel like you’re lost in the cold late night forest alone with a fading flashlight.
